Using iPad as a mini monitor - Geek accomplishment of the Day!

Since I'm adding/changing so many things in my dictionary, I have a ton of sticky notes on my screen.  With a few short steps, I was able to hook my iPad up and connect it to my PC to use as a mini monitor.   I can stick my Auto Brief suggestions over there now during trial or just leave my sticky notes up to remind myself of new briefs.

Ignore that giant crack on my laptop screen while you check it out.  Bad week for screens at my house :)

I downloaded the Maxivista app on my iPad.  It was $9.99.  You have to also install some software on your PC.  The app gives you directions on what to install on your PC.  I had previously downloaded Connectify.  Wifi obviously is an option as well, but our courtrooms don't have it, so Connectify is the best option for me.  I used the free version of Connectify to connect my laptop to my iPad, and poof, I was set.  All I had to do was drag my sticky notes over to the iPad.   Yippee.

The only thing I don't like is that I am getting some screen flickering with the Maxivista, which apparently is a normal side effect of the software.  Seems to work well, though, so I'm sticking with it.  Will post pics next week of it with Auto Brief running.  Maybe by then I'll have a new laptop :)
